A Simple Time Management System

I saw Jack Canfield being interviewed on "Larry King Live" a few years ago. He was talking about managing your time for positive change. He told Larry about a time-management system that was so easy I couldn't forget it. And I started thinking I can work towards that. Here it is.

It's based on dividing your life into three kinds of days. Focus days, free days and buffer days. The idea is to find the ratio that works for you. Tweak it until you feel good about it.

Try for: 3 Free Days : 3 Focus Days : 1 Buffer Day.
[If that is unrealistic for you try a ratio of - 2:4:1]

THE KEY - to have more focus days & free days, and to minimize the number of buffer days

THE GOAL - to feel less pressured

FOCUS DAYS

A 'Focus Day' is when 85% of your time is focused on the 20% of your life that produces 80% of the results.

Each of us has something that we enjoy and do naturally, that we would call our core genius. On a 'Focus Day' focus on your core genius.

FREE DAYS
A 'Free Day' is midnight to midnight with no work related activity. Many people haven't had a 'free day' in years.

Studies show that people who take more free days actually end up making more money, because when they're off, that's when the creative ideas come forward. The inspirations for new products, new ideas, new services, new ways to be in the world begin to flow.

BUFFER DAYS
A 'Buffer Day' is when you are doing things to maintain yourself, running around doing your laundry, grocery shopping, personal appointments, etc.

Aim to have your schedule determine what kind of day it will be, so you are not just responding to people, events and situations around you . . . so that your days are 'more intentional' and under your control.

Having this kind of control of your days, allows you to breathe easy.    Ahhhhh!

You are the masterpiece of your own life.
You are the Michelangelo of your own life.
The David that you are sculpting is you"
