BECOMING A 'MAGNET' FOR PROSPERITY

There are two methods to the goal of attracting prosperity and anything else you want into your life:

  1. The Long Route - Finding Your Own Way to Prosperity
  2. The Short (and faster) Route - Following in Another's Footsteps

THE LONG ROUTE - FINDING YOUR OWN WAY TO PROSPERITY

Figure out exactly what you want, 'very specifically'.

Take stock of where you are:

  • what your situation is
  • what your assets are
  • what your liabilities are - both external or tangible and internal or intangible.

It's hard to go somewhere else unless you know where you are now. Based on where you are and what you want, take the best action you can think of at this moment.

Then, once you've acted, notice what happened.
  • What progress did you make, if any?
  • What worked? What didn't work?
  • What did you learn?
  • Then take another action, this time tweaking it (or hugely changing it) - based on whatever you learned.

Do more of what worked, and change what didn't. You might not tweak your action very well at first, but that's okay.

Once you've acted again, evaluate again, and then take MORE action

Keep doing this until you get what you want.

Every time you act, even if by common definition you 'Fail', you learn something.

Eventually, after you've acted enough times, you will know what works for you, and you will be unstoppable.

HOW TO KEEP YOURSELF MOTIVATED

The way to keep yourself going is to:

  • Be clear about what you want
  • Focus your attention on how to get it, and what the rewards will be once you do get it.
  • Feel as much positive emotion and passion as you can about those rewards.

At first you might not be good at feeling all this positive emotion, but as you practice doing it, you will eventually become really good at it.

Keep practicing.

Anything you practice, you will eventually become really good at.

THE SHORT ROUTE - FOLLOWING IN ANOTHER'S FOOTSTEPS TOWARDS PROSPERITY

Find at least one, preferably several people who've done what you want to do.

Millions of people have succeeded by following in the footsteps of others.

Many have written books or created training courses on their specialty. Some happily mentor others.

To find out how they think and act about what they do:

  • Read their books
  • Listen to their recordings
  • Join their blogs
  • Take their seminars.

If you think like they do and act like they do, chances are, you will likely get very similar results.

BEGIN BY STUDYING WHAT OTHERS HAVE DONE

  • Find out what these people believe about what they did.
  • Find out what is important to them.
  • Find out what they think about.
  • Find out what they focus their attention on.
  • Find out what their internal strategies are for making decisions.
  • Adopt 'How They Think'.
  • Find out what actions they took, which will give you a surer starting point than the long 'trial and error' method.
  • Then, as Tony Robbins, says "Take massive action". Focus on what you want and act, and keep acting, and don't let anything stop you.

Make what you want 'IMPORTANT'. If you're procrastinating you aren't making what you want important. And, you're probably focusing on what you're afraid of, rather than what you want.

The one thing you have total and complete control over is what you focus your attention on.

Luckily, that's the first and most important part of achieving anything.

DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT

All of this involves 'doing something different'. You will not change your results by continuing to do the same thing you're doing now. So:

  1. Create a product.
  2. Create a service.
  3. Figure out something people want that you can provide, or find a better way to provide.
  4. Be of value in some way.
  5. To the degree you are of value to others, you can profit.
One other thing about prosperity.
  • People are willing to pay for something they perceive to be of value to them.

  • In other words, the person they pay must have something - a product, a service, information - something that they want - more than holding on to their money.

  • So money changes hands, when we have something that the other person wants and values.

"I never went for the money, I just said, God use me. Show me how to take who I am, who I want to be, and what I can do, and use it for a purpose greater than myself." Oprah Winfrey
